Concept:
Een stevige man ( acteur ) met een zwembroek aan en een zonnehoed op, ligt op een
standaard witte stretcher in een zomerachtig decor: strand, zon, zee,
palmboom.
Op de buik van de man, ligt een stethoscoop, met daaraan een
versterker ( audio ).
De versterker is aangesloten op een speaker die horizontaal in de set ligt. Op de speaker is dezelfde set opgesteld, maar dan in miniatuur.
De miniatuur set stuitert over de speaker op het geluid van de rommelende buik van de man.

Uitwerking:
Gerommel van een hongerige buik, versterkt door een speaker. Op de
speaker die verderop staat ( 4 tot 6 meter verder ), staat een
miniatuur huiskamertje met mannetje op ligbed ( zelfde setting ) dat
een aardbeving overkomt. Het geluid van deze opname speelt een
belangrijke rol. Dit wordt een live opname van 1 minuut ( Thomas ) die
later ge-edit zal worden. Het is een experimentele workshop. Wellicht
kunnen deelnemers spelen met geluidseffecten ( draaien aan knoppen )

WHAT
- An navigation application, that gives you traditional (audio) direction and a poetic story about traveling, loneliness, homecoming, temptation, disguise, identity and exile, told by Tom, during the trip. Loosely inspired by Homer’s Odyssey and HAL 9000.

WHY
- Navigational software is something we daily trust and depend on – We have a somewhat personal relation with this type of software, what if it gets
very personal? – Tom is consious but has only one sense, his GPS – What does ‘life’ mean when you have juste one sense – What is Tom’s opinion on traveling?

HOW
- Choose your transportation method Submit start and end point TomTells calculates the route and gives you the directions in text and audio
